Common Problems 1. EPOXY DOES NOT CURE: (1) Add too much epoxy pigment or mica powder. (2) The temperature is too low or the relative humidity is too high. (The optimum operating temperature is 25°C.) (3) Resin A and Hardener B were not mixed in a 1:1 volume ratio. (4) Please note that epoxy resin will react thermally after mixing. Do not add items that can be affected by temperature, such as flowers. If you need to seal the flowers with resin, please dehydrate the flowers first or use dried flowers. If you want to seal something with resin, please make sure that the items you want to seal are completely dry. If the item contains water and is sealed with epoxy resin, the water wrapped in epoxy resin will not be able to evaporate, so it is easy to go mouldy and make the finished products become cloudy, or even not solidify. (5) It is important to note that epoxy resin takes longer to cure due to lower temperatures in winter, usually need two or three days. You can speed up the curing process slightly by placing the epoxy in a warmer place. (The optimum temperature is 25°C.) (6) Tips for use in winter: If used in a low temperature environment, please separately soak the resin A and hardener B in warm water at 50°C before using, and then stir until the epoxy resin becomes thin. (Note: If the resin and hardener are too cold (below 10°C), the curing process may be prolonged or even stopped.) 2. TOO MANY BUBBLES: About eliminating bubbles, there are some ways: (1) Soak the resin A and hardener B separately in warm water (about 30 to 50 degrees Celsius) to let the glue temperature rise a little bit, and then mix them. When the glue gets a little hot, it will be easier to stir and will not generate many bubbles. (2) When making epoxy resin, the larger the volume, the faster the curing time, you can use a heat gun to eliminate bubbles. Hair dryer is also ok, the principle is to let the hot air raise the temperature of the glue surface, then the bubbles inside the glue will rise, and then disappear. (Used at a distance of about 15 cm from the surface of the epoxy resin.) (3) When mixing, the more slowly stir, the less bubbles appear. (Time: 3-4 minutes). Mix slowly until absolutely no filaments are seen. (Do not use an electric mixer.) 3. WARM HINTS: (1) It is not recommended that you mix a large amount of resin at one time, because a large amount of resin will release more heat during the curing process, which may cause the resin to boil. (2) As the object will harden after curing with epoxy resin, when using resin glitters or gold foil flakes, please completely cover the glitters/foil flakes with epoxy resin, so as not to scratch your fingers after the uncovered glitters/foil flakes has cured.
