New Genuine Nissan Parts The 5.6L VK56VD V8 Engine had a defect where the camshaft lobe was wearing through the original high pressure fuel pump lifter valve (AKA lifter bucket). This would not only affect the fuel pressure but eventually ruin the engine as shavings of metal spread throughout the system. Checking this part regularly and replacing it if there is any wear on the bottom of the bucket (as well as making sure the oil supply hole inside the Hight Pressure Fuel Pump housing is clear) is a good precaution.
