SEB2-AB Preamp Balance~Volume~Treble/Bass The TONE MONSTER SEB Series preamps are a cost-effective solution for any instrument equipped with either passive magnetic or piezoelectric pickups. Manufactured in South Korea for GUITAR FUEL , they are ready to install and offer a +/- 12dB range for either two (treble/bass) or three (treble/middle/bass) bands of equalization. Best of all, they will bring your passive pickups to life! Features include a completely prewired harness, a quality output jack and brass shaft potentiometers for longer life and smoother control. Our TBB6 balance potentiometer with its NO SOLDER terminal block makes pickup connection a breeze using the included screwdriver. And a bridge ground wire is already in place to complete the install. For single pickup or pickup selector switch applications, simply remove the balance potentiometer and wire direct. The SEB Series also features a GAIN trim (level) potentiometer mounted right on the circuit board (small blue cube) so you can increase or decrease the incoming signal based on the pickup(s) being used. The SEB PA+ models feature the PPB v.1 passive/active volume upgrade with a passive tone potentiometer. The mids toggle feature ( MT ) allows you to select from 250, 500 or 800Hz frequencies. The circuit board, manufactured using Surface Mount Technology (SMT), is mounted in a plastic case, covered with epoxy to prevent any damage and secure the wiring. The plastic case (45 X 25 mm) also includes an adhesive pad for secure mounting. Top quality components and meticulous soldering ensures noise free performance. Powered by a 9V alkaline battery (not included), the circuit can handle up to 18V (2-9V in series) for increased headroom. We offer DIY power upgrades including the BAT-1 (18V) or BAT-2 (9 or 18V switchable). We suggest using pickups with similar outputs, either magnetic or piezoelectric, but not both together since the balance function is passive. Our preamps were designed for and work best with passive pickups!
